Girls Football Team

Our school girls team had a very successful outing last week. They beat four schools and progressed to the semi final, losing out to Colmcilles SNS, Knocklyon. Great performances were on show from all on our team and we have a very bright future ahead with our three 4th class pupils. Thanks to Mr Davern for leading the team.

Credit Union Quiz Dublin Finals

On Sunday our Junior and Senior teams took part in the Dublin finals of the Credit Union Quiz. Both teams represented their school really well and the Junior team placed first, making it the first time that a team from St. Kilian’s S.N.S. or from Kilnamanagh Credit Union has ever qualified for the All-Ireland finals. Congratulations to both teams and a massive thank you to Mr. Dignam for preparing and leading the school quiz teams.

Wesley College Inter-Schools Music Competition

On Friday the school choir had huge success in the Wesley College Inter-Schools Music Competition. This is an all-island music competition for schools. In their first ever competition, the school choir received second place in the primary school’s competition with a fantastic score of 86. Well done to all involved and a special thank you to Mr. Dignam, Ms. O’Sullivan and Ms. Duggan for leading our wonderful choir.

Literacy Week 2024

During Literacy Week (19th – 23rd February), storyteller Seosamh Ó Maolalaí came to visit the 3rd and 4th classes in conjunction with the Writers in Schools scheme.

We ran a very successful Book Fair and raised over €1,800 in free books for our school so a huge thank you to all who visited and supported!

This year, we had a Reading Partners session where 6th classes paired up with 4th classes and 5th classes paired up with 3rd classes to read their favourite books together.

Finally, congratulations to our book cover competition winners!

Fun in Ms. O’Leary’s 5th Class

In the Science lesson, the children were ‘making a volcano’ to test what happens when you mix an acid and with a base and to determine what type of reaction takes place.

In the Drama lesson, the children made freeze frames of activities they do while on their summer holidays.

Laudate 2024 – School Choir

The school choir took part in Laudate 2024 on Wednesday. This was a fantastic concert with 11 other schools from Dublin and it was run by the Dublin Diocese. The children all really enjoyed the night and they received many compliments for their enthusiasm and wonderful singing. A huge thank you to Mr. Dignam, Ms. O’Sullivan and Ms. Duggan for preparing the choir for this wonderful event. Scroll down to have a listen to some of the songs they sang!
