Mr. Dignam’s 5th Class
Every Friday in Mr. Dignam’s 5th class we bake or cook something. So far we have made pizza wraps, garlic mayonnaise and vegetable skewers, chocolate sauce and fruit skewers and chocolate chip cookies. This week we made delicious soda bread. We watched the cooking video that Mr. Dignam made and them we made it ourselves. It was so much fun!

First, we watched a video of Mr. Dignam making the pizza wrap. He put his own toppings on but said that you put on whatever you want.
After the video, we chose all our ingredients. I chose passata, grated cheddar cheese and some pepperoni.
Then we started to heat up our wraps until they were nice and warm, and then we started putting our toppings on.
After I had put my toppings on, I put it back on the pan until the cheese melted.
Finally, it was time for the best part the TASTE-TEST. Woah that was a great tasting pizza wrap, I would rate it a 10/10.

First we came up with an idea as a class for the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition. Mr. Dignam entered us online and our idea was ‘can we turn summer clothes into winter clothes’. We got in! A few weeks later, we did a heat experiment with Ms. O’Sullivan to learn about convection. Then we did an experiment with Mr. Dignam with coffee cups to see which materials insulate the best another day.
Then one week later we brought in some old clothes like tops, leggings, jeans, hoodies and lots more and the next day we started coming up with some ideas for our clothing. Each group got either a top or trousers to use and you had to insulate them to make them better for cold weather in winter. The people with the trousers had to make this disgusting insulation with cotton pads and PVA glue and yesterday as insulation. Then we finished designing and making them.
Today the official photographers came and took some cool pictures of our clothing.
It was lots of fun doing the experiment and we all enjoyed it.
