Seachtain na Gaeilge

Featured

We will have Seachtain na Gaeilge in St. Kilian’s SNS from Thursday 10th to Wednesday 16th of March.

The emphasis of the week is to use a small amount of Irish in a fun environment (we have lots of activities planned).  Children will be helped and encouraged all week.

The Caife will sell Hot Chocolate, Orange/7up, biscuits and sweets.  Each item will be priced at 50c and the children will only be allowed to spend a maximum of €2 each

Attached is the timetable for each class for all activities.  We will have table quiz/caife/trad music/bingo all as gaeilge.

It promises to be a fun lead up to celebrating Lá Féile Pádraig.

Our Christmas Tree

This year in St. Kilian’s Senior School we wanted to do something special for Christmas.  So we asked all 260 of our talented pupils to make and design a bauble for the Christmas tree.  We hope to make this a tradition each year.  A student in Ms. Duggan’s 4th class won an Art competition last year and won a prize for herself but she also won a prize for the school. It was a voucher for a stationary shop so we used it to get the supplies to decorate the bauble’s.  Everyone enjoyed making them and displaying them on the tree.  It has made our tree very unique.  Our student council assisted with the collecting and helping to hang the bauble’s on the tree.

Happy Christmas
